Resizing Your Pictures Using Irfanview

So you've heard a lot about Picasa in class. It has a lot of great features. And I mean A LOT. Maybe more than you need if you just want to resize your pictures and get them on the d$#m wiki already. So here's a lighter, simpler-to-use alternative that you can download for free from here: http://www.irfanview.com/ And if anyone cares, it only takes up 1.36mb of space!

Resizing a pic

1. Open your pic in Irfranview
2. Go to Image, then Resize/Resample

Batch Resize/Rename

So you can do that one at a time which is fine. But if you have like 30 pics, you can do em all at once.
1. Open your pic in Irfranview
2. Go to File then Batch Conversion Rename

4. In Output directory, browse for the folder you want your new/about-to-be-resized pics to be in
5. Choose the Batch Conversion- Rename Result files option.
8. To rename, in the box at the bottom just put in what u need like Ramirez_John_Getty## or w/e. The ## just means that it'll name it 01, then 02 etc.
6. Click on the Set Advanced Option, set the long side to 800 pixels (or w/e)
7. Make sure the Preserve Aspect Ratio box is checked, click Ok
